Taking on a fitness program to improve one’s health and lifestyle is exciting. It boosts one’s immune system, reducing a risk of infections and diseases. However, there are a few concepts one needs to place into consideration when it is exercising time. Let us dive in and ensure that we check out these aspects, to ensure maximum benefits from exercising.
Starting with an obvious: Enjoy Exercising: Many consider exercising to be a burden and a form of torture meant to drag humanity to medieval times. As a result, they curse continuously once an exercise gets tough. Many terminate, swearing never to do it again, resorting to dubious ways of achieving their intentions. It is a terrible idea, as one needs to persevere. Try the best you can, to enjoy exercises done. In this way, you get inspired and encouraged to do it another day, rather than regretting later.
Set a time aside: Exercising time should be exclusive; not chit chat time. This includes staying off the phone, unless it is an emergency. This helps one concentrate, there by performing exercises better, without destruction.
Aim for a better you: In a world of exercising, there is no such thing as perfect. There is always room for improving and advancing. As a result, one should aim at becoming better than who they were a day before, rather than struggling to achieve perfection. But, but, always do your exercises in the perfect format. Also, comparing yourself to others is good. However, extreme comparisons should be avoided.
Disciplined: Although I am a verified and certified fitness junkie, I follow exercising rules and regulations depending on exercises done and where I am exercising from. This avoids interruptions and destruction, or being kicked out of a fitness center.
Planning: Before initiating a workout, one needs to know the kind and extent of exercises to be done. This sets forth an organized environment, ensuring that exercises of a particular session are performed to the fullest. This also assists in making modifications when necessary, for example in case of an injury or sickness.
Proper format: This is where perfectionism comes in. Ensure that exercises are done in full range motion to avoid injuries, and benefiting the most from exercises done. The range of proper format of an exercise varies, as modifications can be made. However, safety should always be considered first, before initiating or modifying an exercise. Injuries can result from sudden uncontrolled muscle contractions and relaxations.
Push yourself: Slogans have proven to be effective. However, it is always one’s mind which leads the rest of the body. Simplifying some exercises should be avoided. For example, pressing up the body while kneeing is an absolute no. Struggle the best you can, pushing yourself to at least doing a few full range and proper press ups.
Exercise with a purpose: You don’t have to be an athlete or preparing for a marathon or triathlon, but exercise with an aim of achieving something. This ensures focus and courage of driving oneself, to achieve a desired goal and purpose.
Something new: Repetition of exercises is good, but it gets boring with time. Adding in a few twitches, modifications and entirely new exercises is a saver. One keeps motivated to perform better another day. Spicing up one’s exercising keeps the body, mind and arena alive.
Evaluation: There would be no point in continuously exercising without knowing whether you are progressing or not? Finding out how you are improving is essential. One gets to know where they need to improve, there by becoming better. Also, knowing where one stands among others is crucial. This involves taking part in competitions and challenges. However, it is not simply a matter of joining the elite of the elite athletes or fitness junkies, but a need to know one’s capabilities. Performing a personal assessment and evaluation is essential. It involves measuring one’s strength, flexibility and endurance.
Once the above are placed into consideration, exercising will become part of your life and enjoyable, there by benefiting from it the most.
